On Sunday (May 4), Kitchee secured a narrow 1-0 victory against BC Rangers at Tsing Yi Sports Ground, thanks to a second-half goal from Sherzod Temirov.
The match started with Kitchee applying pressure, as Temirov attempted a lob after receiving a long pass from Dantas, followed by a free kick from Fernando from over 30 yards, both of which were saved by the opposing goalkeeper. Kitchee's defense had a couple of lapses, but they were fortunate to avoid conceding, with goalkeeper Fynn Talley delivering a solid performance to keep the score level at 0-0 by halftime.
After the break, Talley was called into action once more, making crucial saves. Ngan Cheuk Pan had a header from a Júnior assist that was also thwarted by the Rangers' keeper. In the 64th minute, Kitchee finally broke the deadlock. Júnior's shot was saved but not cleared far enough, allowing Chen Ngo Hin to quickly assist Temirov, who finished from close range to put Kitchee ahead 1-0.
In the 70th minute, returning star Ruslan Mingazov sent a cross from the right, but Luís Machado's first-time shot was saved. Júnior had another chance in the box, and Temirov's free kick also failed to test the goalkeeper. Ultimately, Kitchee held on for a 1-0 win, securing all three points.
