Kitchee successfully defended their HKPL U-22 League FA Cup title on Monday night (May 25), defeating HKFC 3-0 at Kowloon Bay Park.
The starting lineup featured youth standouts Chan Shing Chun, Matthew Slattery, and Thuriain Tun, alongside overage players Law Tsz Chun and Adrián Revilla. Facing the HKPL U-22 League Champions, Kitchee capitalized on an early defensive error to break the deadlock in the 16th minute. A clearance from the HKFC goalkeeper deflected off Chan Shing Chun and fell straight to Júnior, who quickly set up Slattery to fire home for a 1-0 lead—maintaining Slattery's record of scoring in every single match of the competition. Kitchee doubled their advantage in the 31st minute when Tun played the ball from the left wing to Revilla, who picked out Júnior in the middle. Tun then collected Júnior’s clinical pass and struck a right-footed shot off the post and into the net, sending Kitchee into the break with a comfortable 2-0 cushion.
While Kitchee slowed the tempo in the second half, the Blues delivered a final strike deep into stoppage time. Two U-18 players combined brilliantly as Lam Pak Yin unleashed a sweeping diagonal pass to Lee Siu Hin, who calmly shook off two defenders before slotting the ball home. With the final whistle confirming the 3-0 victory, Kitchee secured the HKPL U-22 League FA Cup for the second consecutive season.
