Kitchee secured a 1-0 victory against Eastern District in the Hong Kong Premier League on Tuesday (2 Dec).
Newly signed goalkeeper Pong Cheuk Hei made his debut, while Inna Asier Illarramendi started for Kitchee again. Early in the game, Lam Jordan Lok Kan received a pass from Adrián Revilla at the edge of the penalty area, only to have his powerful right-foot shot saved. Moments later, Kam Chi Kin Jason advanced the ball forward and passed it to Illarramendi on the left, whose low cross was blocked before Revilla could score.
In stoppage time, Dantas earned a free kick right outside of the penalty area, and Yumemi Kanda stepped up to take the shot, finding the back of the net and giving Kitchee the lead going into halftime.
After the break, Kitchee brought in Júnior, switching to a 4-4-2 formation to enhance their attacking power. Eastern District gradually increased their offensive pressure, but Pong Cheuk Hei delivered a solid performance, and Illarramendi made a crucial overhead clearance. Ultimately, Kitchee held onto their 1-0 lead, securing all three points.
