Hong Kong, 13th—Kitchee defeated Golik North District 2-1 in an exhilarating match held at North District Sports Ground on Saturday.
The game began with both teams probing for openings. Kitchee's Yumemi Kanda created a stir in the penalty area, leading to Leandro Martínez and Lam Pak-yin having their shots either saved or sent wide. After a goalless first half, Kitchee brought on Jay Haddow, who made an immediate impact. In the 59th minute, he executed a quick throw-in to Martínez, whose strike from the edge of the area found the back of the net via the inside of the post, giving Kitchee a 1-0 lead.
Just seven minutes later, Haddow's powerful shot was saved, but Adrián Revilla capitalized on the rebound, heading it home to double Kitchee's lead to 2-0.
