Kitchee suffered another setback in the HKPL U-22 League, falling 1-4 to KC Southern on Sunday (February 8).
It’s a difficult first half for Kitchee when they found themselves behind in the early stage following Yan Hei Yin’s injury that saw Yuen Chun Him forced to play as a center-back.
The situation worsened as KC Southern doubled their advantage in the 20th minute. Yiu Tsz Leong pulled one back for his sides minutes later, but KC Southern restored their two-goal lead before the interval.
Despite Kitchee’s efforts to fight back in the second half, it turned into another night to forget as KC Southern added a fourth to seal the result, extending Kitchee’s winless run.
‘We’ve been struggling in recent matches due to injuries,’ said Kitchee U22 Head Coach Poon Man Chun. ‘However, I think this is such a great learning experience for the boys to deal with setbacks as they rarely get the chance to play against foreign players in the Premier Youth League. I think this kind of challenges can inspire the boys to become a better player in pursuing a professional football career in the future.’ He added.
