It was a mixed matchday for Kitchee in the Hong Kong Premier Youth League as Kitchee U18 cruised to a commanding 6-1 win over Konter, while Kitchee U16 were held to a 2-2- draw by Lucky Mile U16 on Friday (February 6).
The U16s started brightly and went to two goals ahead within 20 minutes. Hugo Recio opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a header before Kris Suratkal doubled the advantage 9 minutes later with his cross dropped into the net. Lucky Mile pulled one back before half. The U16s were punished again when they allowed Lucky Mile to equalize through a corner in the second half to tie the game.
Whereas the U18s produced a clinical display in their clash against Konter. Ma Lok Sephrey and Yiu Tsz Leong combined for the opener in the 12th minute when Yiu slotting home after Ma’s headed assist. After providing the assist, the striker went on to score to make it 2-0 in the 28th minute before Yan Hei Yin unleased a stunning 30-yard strike off the crossbar for a third. Yiu and Ma then completed their respective brace to 5-0.
Konter pulled one back moments after the break, but the U18s regained control with Ma scored his hat-trick and sealed an emphatic 6-1 win.
