Kitchee fell to a narrow 1-2 defeat against HKFC on Wednesday (March 11) in the HKPL U-22 League at Tin Yip Road Park.

The match marked Matthew Slattery’s first appearance following his injury, with Seb Buddle and Lam Jordan Lok Kan also featuring in the starting lineup. The first half ended in a stalemate, thanks to two crucial saves from Ainikaer Maihemuti that kept the score goalless at the break.

Kitchee made changes in the second half, bringing on Cheng Chin Lung and Wong Ho Chun Anson. The breakthrough came in the 62nd minute when Cheng opened the scoring to give Kitchee the lead. However, HKFC equalised in the 84th minute from a penalty following a handball. The game took a final turn five minutes into stoppage time, when HKFC headed in a late winner to secure all three points, leaving the final score at 1-2.
