Kitchee U16 secured a 4-2 comeback victory over HKFC U16 in last Friday’s (March 27) Hong Kong Premier Youth League fixture, clinching the Championship Group Round 2 title.
After falling behind in the 14th minute, Kitchee responded instantly as Lam Ka Fung Jonas assisted Ma Lok Sephrey for a rapid equalizer just a minute later to end the first half 1-1. Following the break, Eric Ji received the ball inside the box and dribbled it past the goalkeeper to make it 2-1, before Fong Chun Kit calmly finished a counter-attack to extend the lead to 3-1. Although HKFC pulled one back, Rhys Brown scored from a corner just before the final whistle to seal the 4-2 win. As Round 2 winners, the U16s will now face Round 1 champions BC Rangers U16 for the overall trophy.
Meanwhile, Kitchee U14 dominated Best Union Yuen Long U14 with a 17-1 win on Saturday (March 28), highlighted by a remarkable triple hat-trick from Raphael Yuan.
