Kitchee played out a 1-1 draw against HKFC in the HKPL U-22 League at Kowloon Bay Park on Monday (April 20).
Despite HKFC entering the match as confirmed title winners and starting strong, Kitchee remained resilient and created several opportunities. In the 21st minute, Wong Ho Chun Anson dribbled past two defenders only to see his effort strike the post. Kitchee broke the deadlock in the 27th minute when Seb Buddle’s cross from the right found Wong, who headed home to make it 1-0. Kitchee conceded just before the interval, leaving the score level at half-time.
A goalless second half ensured the points were shared. Following the draw, Kitchee sits on 26 points with a record of 7 wins, 5 draws, and 5 defeats. Before beginning their U-22 FA Cup title defense, they will face Eastern in their final rescheduled league fixture next Monday (April 27).
