Kitchee Academy celebrated a successful Friday (April 24) as both the U16 and U18 teams secured their respective Championship Group Round 2 titles. The U18s were crowned overall league champions following a 3-0 win over Eastern District, featuring a brace from Lam Tsun Wing and a goal by Cheung Yiu Hin. By winning both phases of the competition, the U18s finished the season as undisputed Champions.
The U16s earned their Round 2 title with a 7-2 victory against Konter U16. The team took control early, leading 6-0 at halftime after an opening goal from Lam Ka Fung Jonas and two long-range strikes by Ng Yat Long. Eric Ji, Tam Chun Hin, and another Lam Ka Fung Jonas goal - who scored directly from a corner - all contributed to the first-half lead. Eric Ji added his second in the 83rd minute to finish the game. The U16s will now play Round 1 winners BC Rangers for the overall title.
With Kitchee U18 clinching the title two rounds early, Head Coach Johnny Poon remarked: "These players have shown great progress in recent years. The club's direction is to develop more talent for the First Team, and I hope they all earn that opportunity. We have two league matches remaining, followed by the U18 and U22 FA Cups. Every player will have the chance to play, and they must make the most of it."
In a rescheduled match, Kitchee U14 beat Eastern 3-0. A brace from Lau Wing Hei Wyndon and a goal from Leung Pui Yui secured the win, completing a strong run of results for the Academy.
