Kitchee were unable to retain the title as they fell to TSL FC 0–3 in the Jockey Club Women’s Football League FA Cup final at the Hong Kong Football Club on Sunday (14 June).
Although Kitchee pressed early and created more attacking moments at the start, they gradually found themselves under pressure from TSL, struggling to build any sustained offensive rhythm.
It was TSL who struck first. In the 12th minute, a penalty was awarded and converted, giving them a 1–0 lead.
Kitchee’s best chance in the first half came from striker Chu Po Yan. Receiving a through ball from Cheung Wai Ki, she drove a shot from a tight angle, only for the TSL goalkeeper to make the save. Kitchee went into the break trailing 0–1.
After the interval, the pattern remained largely the same. Kitchee continued to look for a way back into the match, but TSL’s counter-attacks proved more dangerous. In the 52nd minute, TSL doubled their advantage, making it 2–0.
Kitchee then came close again, with Cheung Wai Ki forcing an effort from outside the area. Her left-footed strike clipped the crossbar and bounced out. However, despite their continued efforts, Kitchee could not find a breakthrough and conceded once more in the 68th minute.
In the end, Kitchee were beaten 0–3 and failed to defend their FA Cup crown.
