At the Hong Kong Top Footballer Awards held on Sunday night (May 31) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Kitchee midfielder Asier Illarramendi was named Hong Kong Footballer of the Year for the 2025/26 season.
Since joining Kitchee last September, Illarramendi has made 16 league appearances and helped the team record 13 consecutive wins in the Premier League, sealing the league title with four matches to spare.
In addition, Kitchee Head Coach Iñigo Calderón was named Coach of the Year, while Illarramendi, Yumemi Kanda, Tan Chun Lok, and Kam Chi Kin Jason were selected for the Best XI of the Year. Jason was also named Young Player of the Year.
