Kitchee U18 secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over HKFC U18 in the Hong Kong Premier Youth League U18 FA Cup last Friday (May 29), booking their place in the final against Eastern U18.
Kitchee faced early pressure but broke the deadlock in the 13th minute when a series of passes down the left flank found Li Siu Hin, who beat his marker on the run to finish cleanly. However, HKFC responded almost immediately, netting an equalizer just two minutes later. Kitchee restored their advantage in the 23rd minute when Yiu Tsz Leong headed home from a corner, sending the team into the break with a 2-1 lead.
The second half saw HKFC mount another wave of intense pressure, which eventually paid off with a 75th-minute equalizer. Kitchee answered just three minutes later as Cheung Yiu Hin struck the match-winner to seal the 3-2 triumph.
Looking ahead, both Kitchee U16 and Kitchee U18 will be in cup final action at Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground on the Dragon Boat Festival (June 19), facing Lucky Mile U16 and Eastern U18 respectively.
