Kitchee wrapped up a 12-day preseason training camp in Thailand this week, with Head Coach Iñigo Calderón giving the trip high marks as the Club prepares for its upcoming campaign.
Kitchee put in heavy work overseas, featuring in four friendly fixtures to build fitness and fine-tune tactics.
"I’m really pleased with how the boys performed over these four games," Calderón said. "We still made some mistakes, but overall, it’s a really productive trip. Everyone had solid minutes, and most importantly, we’re coming home healthy with zero injuries."
Team captain Tan Chun Lok emphasized how vital those tough road tests were for the roster's mindset moving forward.
"Going up against that level of competition was huge for us, especially as we prepare for the ACL2," Tan said. "It really replicated what we’re going to face in tough road environments." Looking ahead to domestic play, Tan noted that the team can't afford to rest on its laurels despite past success.
"We can’t slowdown and we have to raise our standard and make even bigger strides this year." Tan added.
