Kitchee youth teams experienced a weekend of mixed results in the Hong Kong Premier Youth League, with the U16 and U18 sides securing impressive victories on Friday (25th), while the U14s suffered a setback on Saturday (26th).

Kitchee U14 fell to a 0-3 defeat against HKFC U14 at the Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre last Saturday.

Despite dominating possession throughout the match, the Young Blues struggled to create clear-cut chances. HKFC broke the deadlock with a brilliant long-range strike, before capitalizing on a swift counter-attack to double their lead, leaving Kitchee 0-2 down at halftime. The opposition added a third goal after the break, wrapping up a disappointing afternoon for the U14s.

Over at Kowloon Bay Park on Friday, Kitchee U16 put on a dominant display to brush aside BC Rangers U16 with a commanding 4-1 victory.

Kitchee U16 enjoyed a dream first half, taking the lead in the 13th minute when Tam Chun Hin reacted quickest to fire home a rebound. Three minutes later, Lam Ka Fung Jonas doubled the lead with a sublime free-kick before netting his brace with a powerful header in the 24th minute, heading into the break with a comfortable 3-0 cushion.

Kitchee showed no signs of slowing down in the second half, with Sin Chon Hei Nuno smashing home a clinical strike just a minute after the restart. Although Rangers managed to pull a consolation goal back late in the game, the U16s comfortably held on for a deserved 4-1 win.

At the same venue on Friday, Kitchee U18 delivered a solid performance to secure a 2-0 win over BC Rangers U18.

It took just one minute for Kitchee U18 to open the scoring, as Lau Ho Rex’s cross remarkably looped over the opposing goalkeeper and sailed into the back of the net. Kitchee U18 maintained their discipline and sealed the three points in the 79th minute when Lee Sen Hei Lucas reacted sharpest during a goalmouth scramble to poke the ball home from close range, ensuring a flawless evening for the older academy cohorts.
