Kitchee secured a 3-1 victory against Supreme Shatin in the HKPL U-22 League at Kowloon Bay Park on Monday (28 Sep), thanks to a stellar performance from Li Siu Hin, who netted a brace and provided an assist.
Kitchee featured first-team player Cheng Chin Lung in the starting lineup, who played the first 45 minutes. The starting XI comprised six U-22 players, Tuscany Shek, Liang Kui Chung, Yan Hei Yin, Li Siu Hin, Cheung Yiu Hin, and Yiu Tsz Leong, alongside four U-18 players.
Kitchee broke the deadlock in the 16th minute. Li Siu Hin delivered a precise pass to Cheung Yiu Hin, who made a well-timed run into the box, beat the rushing goalkeeper to the ball, and slotted it into the empty net to give Kitchee a 1-0 lead. In the 40th minute, Cheung Yiu Hin returned the favor; after receiving a pass from Pang Hing Lun, he set up Li Siu Hin to fire home, making it 2-0 before the break.
Just four minutes into the second half, Kitchee capitalized on a defensive blunder from the opposition. Li Siu Hin intercepted a misplaced pass and rolled the ball into the empty net to extend the lead. Supreme Shatin managed to pull one back in the 72nd minute, reducing the deficit to 3-1. Late in the game, Eric Ji, making his U-22 debut for Kitchee, saw his close-range effort bounce off the post, narrowly missing out on his maiden U-22 goal. Ultimately, Kitchee held on for a 3-1 victory, securing their second consecutive win of the season.
