Kitchee U18s turned on the style in the Hong Kong Premier Youth League on Friday (23 Oct), producing a dominant performance to sweep aside Konter U18s with a 5-0 victory at Shek Kip Mei Park.
The Blues laid down an early marker after just seven minutes when Lam Yat Sen opened the scoring with a brilliant long-range strike. Kitchee's relentless pressure told again just before the interval; in the 42nd minute, a cross from the right by Kris Suratkal deflected off the Konter goalkeeper and into the net, before Lam Tsun Wing struck two minutes later to give his side a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.
The onslaught continued after the restart.ย Tsoi Pui Hei added a fourth in the 65th minute with a fine effort from the left flank, and Yu Ching Kok completed the rout just two minutes later, firing home from inside the penalty area to seal an emphatic five-goal victory.
It proved to be a contrasting weekend for Kitchee U14s, however, who suffered a comprehensive 3-0 defeat at the hands of Eastern U14s at the Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre on Saturday (24 Oct).
Meanwhile, the club's academy celebrated a highly successful double header earlier in the month. On 16 October, Kitchee U16s ran riot in an 11-0 demolition of Lucky Mile U16s, while the U18s secured a comfortable 3-0 win against Eastern District U18s.
